]]> The School of Liberal Arts (SLA) at Maqsut Narikbayev University has released its public report on the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the 2023–2024 academic year. The report highlights how the School’s academic, research, cultural, and community initiatives have supported the global sustainability agenda and fostered social responsibility within the university community.

Throughout the year, over 150 events and activities were organized across all 17 SDGs, demonstrating the School’s commitment to quality education, innovation, equity, and global partnership. The report showcases SLA’s leadership in advancing Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17)—while also contributing to other areas such as health and well-being, gender equality, sustainable cities, and climate action.

Key highlights include:

  • Academic and professional initiatives promoting inclusive and lifelong learning, such as workshops, Olympiads, and research seminars.
  • Student-led charity and sustainability projects supporting local communities and ethical consumption.
  • Strategic partnerships with leading international organizations including HubSpot, Swiss Education Group, The Ritz-Carlton, The St. Regis, and Kazakh Tourism, connecting global expertise with local educational priorities.
  • Research and outreach activities that integrate psychological well-being, intercultural understanding, and environmental awareness into education.

By embedding sustainability principles into its curriculum, extracurricular programs, and partnerships, the School of Liberal Arts continues to position Maqsut Narikbayev University as a model of education for sustainable development and a center for positive societal transformation.

This event was a golden opportunity for our International Relations students to put theory into practice. Our aspiring diplomats engaged in real-world simulations, discussing and debating global issues with the poise and acumen of true global leaders.
It was a transformative experience that went beyond textbooks, allowing students to apply their knowledge in dynamic, real-time scenarios. The success of this event underscores the practical, hands-on approach of our IR program, preparing our students for the complexities of international relations and diplomacy.
