The modular professional development program brought together practicing psychologists from MIA units and instructors teaching psychology-related disciplines at the ministry’s educational institutions. The four-day training focused on enhancing participants’ professional competencies in providing psychological support to law enforcement officers while preparing future trainers to introduce evidence-based approaches to strengthening psychological resilience across the MIA system. The program was delivered as part of the ongoing transformation of Kazakhstan’s law enforcement system.

Participants explored contemporary scientific approaches to professional resilience, stress management, prevention of burnout, and post-traumatic stress disorder. They also gained practical knowledge of psychological assessment, crisis counseling, post-incident psychological support, and de-escalation techniques. A significant portion of the program was dedicated to hands-on training through case study analysis, group exercises, role-playing scenarios, and the application of modern psychological assessment tools.

Upon completion of the training, participants acquired practical skills in assessing the psychological well-being of law enforcement personnel, identifying early signs of occupational stress and post-traumatic reactions, and applying modern approaches to organizing psychological support services within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The training brought together Euronews journalists from the company’s bureaus in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, the UAE, and Qatar. Among the participants were several graduates of the MNU International School of Journalism, who have recently joined the Euronews Kazakh-language editorial team. The sessions were led by experienced Euronews professionals.

Last week, one of the world’s leading international news broadcasters officially announced the launch of its Kazakh-language service. Kazakhstan has become the first country in Central Asia whose national language has been added to the global language network of Euronews. It is worth noting that Maqsut Narikbayev University serves as the host institution for the Euronews Academy courses.

The memorandum was signed in Beijing, China, by Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board of MNU, and Duan Peng, President of BLCU. During the meeting, the parties also discussed promising areas of cooperation. Under the agreement, the universities intend to develop joint research projects, promote student and faculty exchanges, and organize academic and scientific events.

Beijing Language and Culture University is the world’s leading institution for teaching the Chinese language and China’s premier university for training specialists in linguistics. Over more than 60 years of its history, BLCU has educated nearly 200,000 professionals from around the world who are proficient in Chinese and well acquainted with Chinese culture. Notably, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev completed an internship at the university in 1983–1984.

MNU currently offers dual degree programs with universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, the United States, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, and South Korea. Earlier, the University also announced the launch of the joint master’s program “AI + Law” in partnership with the China University of Political Science and Law.

The agreement was reached during the MNU delegation’s visit to the CCTV+ headquarters in Beijing, China. The memorandum was signed by Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board of MNU, and Li Xia, General Manager of CCTV+. The partnership will focus on joint research, personnel exchange, the organization of media forums, and the implementation of technological innovations in the field of artificial intelligence.

In addition, cooperation with one of China’s leading video news agencies will expand access to high-quality media content for students of the MNU International School of Journalism. CCTV+ is a major player in the global media industry, providing multimedia content, news reports, and live broadcasts to media organizations worldwide. As a subsidiary of China Media Group (CMG), its video content is used by more than 1,800 television channels and over 1,000 digital platforms across more than 130 countries.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, the Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and China Media Group jointly organized CMG Media Week 2026 at MNU. Throughout the week, leading experts from China’s largest media corporation delivered training sessions and masterclasses for aspiring journalists.

The agreement between the two universities was reached during the International Conference on Mutual Learning Among Civilizations and the Rule of Law, held in Beijing, China. The cooperation agreement was signed by Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board of MNU, and Jiang Zeting, Chairman of the University Council of CUPL. This innovative postgraduate program is designed to prepare professionals capable of working at the intersection of law, artificial intelligence, data governance, and digital transformation.

The new academic program integrates the educational experience and institutional expertise of one of China’s leading law schools. It combines a strong legal foundation with studies in artificial intelligence technologies, data analytics, algorithmic regulation, digital compliance, and AI governance. The agreement also provides for the participation of CUPL faculty members and experts in the educational process, as well as internships and short-term academic visits to leading Chinese information technology companies, enabling students to gain practical insight into advanced AI applications.

The International Conference on Mutual Learning Among Civilizations and the Rule of Law brought together legal scholars from more than 20 countries. The event also featured the Academic Forum of the China–Central Asia Legal Education Alliance, where members discussed the characteristics of the autonomy of Chinese law and the diversity of global legal civilizations.

“In digital systems, responsibility is distributed among developers, operators, infrastructure providers, and the state. The law must develop new models in which responsibility follows actual control and actual benefit. This leads to a simple principle that I propose for our Alliance: the degree of automation should depend on what is at stake. A system that forwards a document and a system that restricts a person’s liberty require different levels of oversight,” Talgat Narikbayev emphasized during his speech.

The Chairman of the Board also highlighted Kazakhstan’s successful experience in building a digital state, with particular attention to such initiatives as the Digital Family Map and the Digital Bailiff system. The forum was also attended by Christopher Campbell-Holt, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MNU, as well as Galymzhan Kudaibergenov and Sergey Pen, Deputy Chairmen of the Board of MNU. Established last year, the China–Central Asia Legal Education Alliance aims to promote joint research on legal foundations, foster mutual understanding of legal cultures, and strengthen academic and cultural cooperation among the countries of the region.

The conference concluded with the adoption of a joint initiative calling for the use of international law as a guiding framework for global governance, the expansion of practice-oriented cooperation in international legal education, and the establishment of mechanisms for regular dialogue on issues related to the international rule of law.

The books were officially presented to the University Library by Ghassan Humedan, Head of the Cultural Department at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kazakhstan. The donation includes a collection of specialized publications that will serve as a valuable resource for everyone interested in the Arabic language, culture, and linguistics. The new materials will also strengthen the University’s capacity for Arabic language education and contribute to the development of academic cooperation with educational and cultural institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language operates in more than 60 countries worldwide. The Academy is dedicated to promoting the Arabic language globally, enhancing its role in the advancement of human civilization, science, and culture, and strengthening its global presence and potential. Previously, MNU hosted an exhibition dedicated to World Arabic Language Day and launched a special Arabic language course.

The decision was recently approved by the FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) Accreditation and Certification Committee. Following the committee’s review, five programs offered by the School of Liberal Arts were awarded the FIBAA Quality Seal, confirming their high academic quality, compliance with international standards, and alignment with global best practices.

The Bachelor’s program in Psychology and the Master’s program in Applied Linguistics received initial accreditation for a period of five years. In addition, three programs were granted reaccreditation for seven years: the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Translation Studies, as well as the Bachelor’s program in Applied Linguistics.

FIBAA is one of Europe’s leading accreditation agencies, specializing in the evaluation and accreditation of higher and continuing education programs in business, law, and the social sciences and humanities. The agency conducts a comprehensive assessment of academic programs, evaluating everything from institutional strategy and academic governance to the contribution of graduates to their organizations and society. In addition to FIBAA, MNU’s academic programs are accredited by a number of internationally recognized professional and accreditation bodies, including QAA, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIM, HRCI, GARP, CFA, and CEEMAN.

Earlier this year, MNU also improved its standing in the prestigious Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, further reinforcing the University’s growing international reputation.

The program was organized as part of the cooperation between the two universities. Around 20 Chinese students gained an in-depth understanding of Kazakhstan’s legal system and also studied the basics of the Kazakh language. The program also included visits to Astana’s major landmarks.

We found it fascinating to learn about Kazakhstan’s legal system and its unique features, and we also really enjoyed our Kazakh language classes. In addition, we had the opportunity to participate in a meeting with the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović. We are deeply grateful for the exceptionally warm welcome and the meaningful cultural exchange,” said Zhang Jingyi, a student from Lanzhou University.

Earlier, MNU signed a memorandum of cooperation with Lanzhou University in the fields of education and research. The agreement provides for the implementation of academic mobility programs, joint research projects, as well as the organization of conferences, seminars, and symposiums. As part of the partnership, MNU students will also travel to Lanzhou University this summer to study Chinese law and gain firsthand experience of Chinese culture.
