Maqsut Narikbayev University places great emphasis on the spiritual and patriotic education of young people. A key component of this effort is its historical and cultural excursions, conducted since 2013 as part of the History of Kazakhstan course. This approach integrates theoretical study with hands-on experience\u2014taking students beyond the classroom to visit significant historical sites, participate in theatrical reenactments, and analyse key historical events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasised at the first National Kurultai in Turkestan, our centuries-old history is a source of national pride and an essential part of our cultural identity. Therefore, one of the state\u2019s primary objectives is to foster conditions that enable its comprehensive study, deeper understanding, and widespread popularisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past decade, more than two thousand <\/strong>Maqsut Narikbayev University students have taken part in these excursions, traveling across all regions of Kazakhstan\u2014from Zhidebay in the east to Mangystau in the west, and from Burabay in the north to the sacred city of Turkestan in the south. In 2024, the programme expanded internationally, with students visiting Uzbekistan to explore the deep-rooted historical ties between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Key Excursion Routes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Theatrical reenactments also play a significant role in MNU\u2019s historical education, allowing students to immerse themselves in pivotal moments of Kazakhstan\u2019s past. In recent years, the university has staged performances such as \u201cKerei-J\u00e4n\u0131bek\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, <\/strong>\u201cAbai\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, <\/strong>\u201cBatalasu\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, <\/strong>\u201c\u016alyqtau\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, <\/strong>\u201cAqtalma\u011fan \u00fcm\u0131tter<\/strong>\u201d (Unfounded expectations)<\/em>, <\/strong>\u201c\u0130assaui \u0131l\u0131m\u0131ne q\u016brmet\u201d <\/strong>(Respect for the Yassawi teachings)<\/em>, <\/strong>\u201cQalam\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, <\/strong>and <\/strong>\u201cOrda\u201d<\/strong><\/em>. These productions provide students with a deeper emotional and intellectual connection to historical events, enhancing their understanding of the complexities of decision-making in different eras and the lasting impact of the past on the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This dynamic approach to studying history at Maqsut Narikbayev University not only enriches students’ knowledge but also sharpens their critical thinking skills, instills a strong sense of national pride, and fosters respect for their ancestral heritage.
