Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted H.E. Vladimir Jovi\u010di\u0107, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to Kazakhstan, who delivered a guest lecture for students of the International Relations programme.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lecture was held as part of the special course Applied Diplomacy<\/strong>. The Serbian diplomat spoke about the development of Serbian-Kazakh relations, the specifics of international documentation, and the key differences between the functions of embassies and consulates. Moreover, he engaged with students during a Q&A session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI came here for a number of times, and each time I am really surprised by the level of development. I would say MNU is one of the flagship universities in lots of branches here in Kazakhstan. Since I’m giving a lecture today to some potentially future diplomats, what I would like to say is that, first of all, they have to get a good basis at the university, at the academia, and then, in practice, they have to be pretty much prepared for everything. They have to be ready to show their knowledge and to understand the broader context for which diplomacy is or should be well known throughout the world,\u201d<\/em> noted Vladimir Jovi\u010di\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Serbia remains a reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the Balkans. Bilateral trade between the two countries exceeded 45 million USD in the first half of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
