The capital of Kazakhstan is set to become the center of a large-scale international educational event. As part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence declared by the Head of State, the second International Legathon MaxUP legal case championship will take place on April 3\u20134.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of the competition is The Law of the Future<\/strong>. The event is organized by Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU) with the support of the Astana International Financial Centre Court, the Chamber of Legal Consultants \u201cKazakhstan Bar Association,\u201d and the international law firm Baker McKenzie. In addition, the competition was supported by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, the law firms \u201cUnicase,\u201d \u201cKP Disputes,\u201d and \u201cTurkenov Consulting,\u201d as well as attorney Rena Kerimova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 90 students from 13 countries<\/strong> will take part in the competition. Among them are teams from such universities as McGill University (Canada), the China University of Political Science and Law (China), the University of Bremen (Germany), Baku State University (Azerbaijan), the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Russia), the University of Malaya (Malaysia), Tashkent State University of Law (Uzbekistan), and others. The participants\u2019 projects will be evaluated by representatives of government bodies, international legal practitioners, and AI experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe President has set a strategic goal of transforming Kazakhstan into a fully digital country within the next three years. In this regard, I am confident that the education sector must play one of the key roles. We have created not just a platform for competition among the best law students from around the world, but a format that generates advanced legal solutions and ready-made regulatory models for the challenges of the digital era that we will inevitably face in the near future,\u201d<\/em> emphasized Talgat Narikbayev<\/strong>, Chairman of the Board of MNU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will explore the impact of emerging technologies on the legal system, principles of law, ethics, and human rights. It should be noted that this is not the university\u2019s first project in the field of AI. Previously, MNU established two AI laboratories<\/a>, launched a new \u201cAI+X\u201d academic program<\/a>, and introduced a free artificial intelligence course<\/a> for its graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
