Maqsut Narikbayev University held the annual meeting of the Business Council of the Higher School of Law. Participants discussed the transformation of legal education and the integration of AI technologies into legal practice.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event brought together university leadership, faculty members, partners, as well as representatives of the legal community and business sector. Attendees were presented with the results of the academic year and new educational initiatives. Sergey Pen<\/strong>, Vice President for Science, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence at MNU, spoke about ongoing efforts to transform educational programs.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cOur task is to prepare a new generation of specialists who are equally confident in law, technology, and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills. Artificial intelligence does not replace a lawyer, but it changes their role. Therefore, it is important to develop not only professional knowledge but also critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to create solutions in a rapidly changing world,\u201d<\/em> said Sergey Pen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, a new Law program was presented<\/strong>, combining fundamental legal training with modern technological competencies. The program includes courses and practical modules focused on digital law, the use of AI tools in legal practice, implementation of digital projects in the legal field, and the development of data analysis skills. Participants noted that today\u2019s labor market requires graduates not only to have strong legal knowledge but also to possess digital skills, data analysis capabilities, and the ability to use AI solutions in professional activities.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cArtificial intelligence is changing not only legal practice but also the requirements for training specialists. Today, employers increasingly seek professionals who combine strong legal expertise with technical skills, understanding of programming, logic, data analytics, and digital tools. For universities, this means the need to rethink legal education. We must train not only competent lawyers but also professionals capable of working in a new technological environment, understanding ethical issues, making data-driven decisions, and effectively interacting with AI systems,\u201d<\/em> said Mukhit Yeleuov<\/strong>, partner at ADL Disputes law firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the Business Council shared their experience in implementing AI solutions in their work. Olga Bektibaeva<\/strong>, Dean of the Law School at MNU, also presented a new Master\u2019s program in AI Law.<\/strong> In addition, the results of the joint program \u201cIntellectual Property and Business Law\u201d with the World Intellectual Property Organization were presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special attention was given to practice-oriented education. Representatives of the professional community supported the development of mandatory moot court activities, strengthening career preparation for students, and expanding internships in courts, government bodies, law firms, and the corporate sector. It was noted that this approach allows future lawyers to gain real professional experience during their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be noted that MNU had previously also discussed the transformation of educational programs.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
