Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted a guest lecture by Zhaksylyk Sabitov, Director of the Scientific Institute for the Study of the Ulus of Jochi. The historian spoke to students about the evolution of the image of the Golden Horde in Kazakhstan.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the lecture, participants explored how perceptions of the Golden Horde in Kazakh society have changed over the past 80 years. The speaker noted that the study of the Golden Horde has gradually moved beyond a narrow circle of historical research and has become an important part of public interest in the country’s past. He also explained how historical narratives shape contemporary views of history and national identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A separate part of the lecture was dedicated to the lives of Kazakh intellectuals, including historians and scholars who studied the history of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is worth noting that MNU previously hosted a presentation of the book <\/a>The Golden Horde: How a Steppe Empire Changed the World<\/a><\/em> by French historian and researcher Marie Favereau<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
