Dear ISE students,
Today, we had a research seminar organized by the Center for Economic Research with Dr. Omer F. Baris, where he discussed the unintended consequences of anti-corruption policies. He explored how excessive oversight can create perverse incentives, pushing honest individuals out of the public sector while rewarding manipulation and dishonesty.
The session covered key topics such as institutional feedback loops, productivity differences across sectors, and policy implications for combating corruption effectively. Students gained valuable insights and engaged in meaningful discussions, asking questions that sparked further debate.
We appreciate everyone who joined us!
