On December 8, the International School of Economics hosted a research seminar where students presented the outcomes of their academic work.
The seminar opened with a presentation on “Empirical Analysis of Perceived Gender Discrimination: Evidence from Kazakhstan,” delivered by Iliyas Kazbek and Diana Mukhambetzhan. Their study constitutes a rigorous empirical investigation that contributes meaningfully to the understanding of social dynamics within the country.
Following this, the team of Yulia Zarapina, Anzhelika Dzyuba, and Nuraisha Zholan presented their research on “Urbanization Growth Modelling in Astana City Using Logistic Regression.” The work focused on developing a predictive model for the spatial development of the capital using logistic regression analysis.
Both presentations demonstrated a high level of analytical rigor and generated considerable interest and engagement from the audience.
The event also featured the announcement of the “Math Case” competition winners:
First place was awarded to team “Infinity”: Aitmukhan Ilnaz, Kilishbayeva Dilyara, and Shildebay Nuray.
Second place was secured by team “Dreamteam”: Darkhanov Yerdos, Myrzanov Darkhan, and Mergenova Araigul.
The winners were presented with diplomas and commemorative gifts. The contributions of volunteers and organizers were also acknowledged during the event.
