Visually-Impaired Version 
On 21–22 April 2025, MNU’s International School of Journalism hosted the 17th Republican Subject Olympiad in Journalism, bringing together teams from 17 universities. Four stages covered video introductions, storytelling and television scripting, a quiz on knowledge, logic and fact-checking, and a crisis simulation. Media professionals Indira Tursynbay, Meiramkhan Zhapek, Aliya Ashim and Zhannur Sakhiyeva served on the jury; instructors Kalima Tazhikul and Zholdas Orisbay designed stages three and four. SDU University won with 116.3 points. Second-degree awards went to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (115.0) and Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University (110.8); third-degree awards went to Turan University (107.1), Ablai Khan University (106.8) and Korkyt Ata University (103.4). MNU’s team scored 120.5 but, as hosts, was not eligible for prizes. Alma Sailaukyzy prepared the MNU team.
