Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU) will expand academic mobility opportunities through enhanced collaboration with Soka University in Japan. Key agreements were reached during a recent visit by representatives of MNU’s senior management to Tokyo.
Deputy Chairperson of the Board, Shynar Zakiyeva, and Dean of the School of Liberal Arts, Anar Ibrayeva, familiarised themselves with the academic and organisational activities of Soka University and held strategic discussions with its leadership. Particular emphasis was placed on deepening bilateral cooperation and identifying promising areas for joint initiatives. The talks resulted in agreements to increase the number of students participating in academic mobility programmes, initiate discussions on a reciprocal exchange format for professors and lecturers, launch a joint minor programme, and explore the potential for establishing a dual degree programme.
It is worth noting that Soka University is among Japan’s rapidly developing higher education institutions, with an international branch in the United States. An academic exchange programme is already being actively implemented as part of the partnership. Previously, a delegation from Soka University visited MNU on two occasions, underscoring the growing strength of academic ties between the two institutions.
