Visually-impaired version 
On May 25, 2024, the RUN FOR YELDAR – MNU MARATHON 2024 charity race was held in Triathlon Park, organized by Maqsut Narikbayev University in cooperation with the Astana City Triathlon Federation. Every year, the MNU Endowment Foundation holds a charity run in order to support students and strengthen the social responsibility of the entire MNU community. The race is attended by students, graduates, MNU staff, and all concerned citizens of the country. The event was another important step in the university’s tradition of supporting its students in difficult life situations.
The goal of MNU MARATHON 2024, becoming the largest annual one, was the result of financial assistance for the treatment of Eldar Karmisula, a 3rd year student at Maqsut Narikbayev University. Eldar was diagnosed with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, which requires a bone marrow transplant, and the funds raised will help him and his family organize treatment in Turkey.
“Last year, together with the Astana City Triathlon Federation, we organized a charity race for the treatment of our students Sabina, and thanks to the joint effort, her condition improved. This year, with the same good intentions, we organized a charity marathon for our student Eldar. All funds collected at this event will be directed to his treatment. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the participants and sponsors who support us in this good deed” said Talgat Narikbayev, representative of the Board of Directors of Maqsut Narikbayev University.
Tulepbergen Suyuntaev, Vice-President of the Astana Triathlon Federation and President of the MNU Alumni Sport Club, noted that this year MNU MARATHON received significant support from the Akimat and the Astana Sports Department.
“This time we received significant support from the city, and this allowed us to hold the event in the Triathlon Park. About 500 people took part, but we were ready to accept more. All the funds raised are directed to Eldar’s treatment, and we thank everyone for their support,” he said at a press conference at MNU.
The RUN FOR YELDAR MNU MARATHON 2024 brought together caring people from all over the city who are ready to help their fellow neighbour. MNU MARATHON 2024 has become a symbol of unity and support, showing that together we can cope with any difficulties.
