CEGREG organized Cartography Workshop in cooperation with French Institute of Geopolitics (IFG) of Paris 8 University.
Led by Youssef Kammoun and Valentin Martins-Baltar, graduate students from the IFG, the workshop introduced the participants to the fundamentals of map-making as a tool for analytical reasoning in academic and policy research.
16 participants from among ISE faculty and IR students attended the workshop and were awarded certificates. Sessions covered core principles of cartographic design, data visualization, and graphic semiology.
Participants created their own maps using a provided dataset and received personalized feedback to improve visual clarity and argumentation. This hands-on training strengthened technical skills and highlighted the role of visual tools in research communication.
