A group of rectors from several Kazakhstani universities visited Maqsut Narikbayev University to learn about its projects aimed at integrating artificial intelligence.
The university leaders were briefed on the organisation of the academic process and MNU’s experience in strengthening the fundamental component of educational programmes amid the development of AI. Particular attention was given to the launch of the AI + X degree programme, which allows students to choose one of several fields — law, economics, journalism or linguistics — and gain in-depth knowledge in their chosen discipline alongside expertise in artificial intelligence. The visitors also viewed the university’s AI projects designed to automate processes, improve operational efficiency and create a digital learning environment.
The rectors’ visit took place as part of the Forum marking Higher Education Workers’ Day, held in Astana. The event focused on current issues in higher education and science, the digital transformation of universities, the integration of AI into the educational process, the improvement of educational programmes and the strengthening of international cooperation. During the forum, MNU Provost Anar Ibrayeva received the Medal for Contribution to Higher Education from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, MNU also hosted the first Kazakhstan–Malaysia University Forum.
