As part of its ongoing collaboration with THRI (The Hague Research Institute), CEGREG co-hosted a webinar exploring shifting geopolitical dynamics in Central Asia. The discussion featured CEGREG researchers alongside international scholars and was moderated by a representative from THRI.
The panel addressed China’s growing role in the region through the Belt and Road Initiative, the evolution of regionalism in Central Asia, the geopolitical impact of the war in Ukraine, water cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and the future of energy governance. The webinar promoted an open academic exchange on how global developments are reshaping Central Asia’s strategic significance.
