Visually-Impaired Version 
Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU) is expanding opportunities for hands-on learning for future journalists. In the new academic year, Foley, audio podcast and Newsroom facilities have been launched.
The Foley Studio is a specialized space where sound effects are created and recorded manually. The dedicated classroom enables students to develop their skills in creating, mixing and producing special sound effects widely used in advertising, film and other media productions. Students also have access to an audio podcast recording studio.
Classes in audio journalism are already being held in the new facilities, led by experienced industry professionals. In addition, a new Newsroom has been launched for collecting, processing and publishing student content.
The Journalism programme at MNU was launched in 2021 with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2023, the International School of Journalism was established jointly with the Presidential Television and Radio Complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Today, around 300 students are enrolled in the School.
The launch of the new facilities will further strengthen the practical component of the educational process. To prepare versatile media professionals, the University also provides access to several studios and modern professional equipment for content production.
This year, the MNU International School of Journalism marks its third anniversary.
