On February 22–23, 2024, Nazarbayev University hosted the international conference “Impact Central: Bridging Social Development and Entrepreneurship in Central Asia.”
The conference brought together partner universities from across Central Asia, including the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), SDU, KIMEP, and Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU).
More than 30 ISE MNU students took part in the event, presenting their research projects in the fields of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. The project supervisor was Dr. Anjan Ghosh, Professor at Nazarbayev University and Visiting Professor at MNU, who teaches the undergraduate course “Introduction to Sustainable Development” as part of the universities’ partnership.
According to the jury, the best student projects were:
• Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Teach for Qazaqstan’s Social Impact Journey by Gulkanat Mukhitova
• Empowering Communities: BI Group’s Contribution through IQanat High School of Burabay by Temirbulatova Dilnaza, Zhansultanova Alsu, Yekhsan Ayagoz, Shamratkyzy Assel
• Air Astana’s Sustainable Development Approach by Assel Amangeldi, Marpiya Kabdrashitova, Naziya Kospanova
