Ana Sina is a Ph.D. candidate in Finance at the University of Reading and a Research Fellow at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. She previously worked at Pernod Ricard and Deloitte Consulting in Milan in financial planning and risk management roles. Ana holds a double Master’s degree in Econometrics and Finance from Aix-Marseille University and Ca’ Foscari University. She has also served as a Teaching Assistant at Bocconi University and the University of Reading, supporting courses in financial econometrics, empirical finance, credit risk, and quantitative methods.
Lecture Topic: How Climate Risk Shapes U.S. Systemic Stability through Syndicated Lending
This study explores how climate risks influence systemic risk in the U.S. syndicated loan market by integrating diverse climate risk measures and region-specific environmental indicators. The findings highlight that systemic risk is largely driven by banks’ environmental orientation, extreme events in the South, precipitation anomalies in the East, and shifts in climate policy. The research suggests that while environmentally conscious lending strengthens financial stability, weak climate policies fail to reduce uncertainty, emphasizing the need for stronger policy interventions to support sustainable finance.
