Maqsut Narikbayev University welcomed Dace Rutka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Kazakhstan. The diplomat delivered a guest lecture for students.
Dace Rutka shared key insights into Latvia’s history, culture and system of government, as well as the country’s foreign policy priorities and its membership in the European Union and NATO. Particular attention was given to the development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Latvia, including trade and economic cooperation, logistics and educational exchanges. The Ambassador’s lecture was delivered as part of the Applied Diplomacy course.
“I am very pleased to visit MNU. It is extremely important for us to lay a solid foundation for cooperation. It is also essential to share practical experience with future Kazakhstani diplomats,” Dace Rutka emphasised.
MNU actively cooperates with Latvian universities through academic mobility programmes. Latvia is one of Kazakhstan’s key and most active partners in the Baltic region. Next year, the two countries will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
