A year ago, the MIND Analytics and Research Center (Maqsut Narikbayev Institute for Network and Development) began its operations at MNU. During this time, it has become the leading expert platform, shaping research and project initiatives not only in Kazakhstan but also on the global stage.

Over the past year, analysts from MIND, also known as an independent Idea Factory, have hosted more than 20 major events, including roundtables in collaboration with the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, expert discussions, and research presentations. One of the Center’s most significant milestones was the launch of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Accelerator. This intensive 100-day program convened over 200 experts to address critical issues such as hunger eradication, health and well-being, and quality education.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized at a National Council for Science and Technology meeting that universities and research institutions must become strategic hubs driving the socio-economic development of the country. We are proud that MIND’s research is already being utilized by government agencies. Our Think & Do Tank model not only facilitates consultation but also empowers action,” said Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board at MNU.

MIND’s position as a leading analytical platform has been firmly established, with expert agendas being shaped and strategic solutions crafted. Center’s research has been featured in prominent national and international publications, including Modern Diplomacy, The Astana Times, The National Interest, RUSI Newsbrief, Asia Times, and the Centre for Historical Analysis and Conflict Research. The Center has also signed 15 memoranda and actively participated in high-profile international conferences and forums.

As an integral part of Maqsut Narikbayev University’s vision to transition from a teaching institution to a research-driven university, MIND is at the forefront of this transformation. Our 2025 agenda includes expanding research initiatives, deepening international collaborations, developing strategic partnerships, with ongoing efforts in legislative improvements, digital transformation, and Kazakhstan’s sustainable development,” said Altair Akhmetov, Head of the MIND Research Center.

It is important to emphasize that, at its core, MIND’s mission is to unite experts for applied research, fostering solutions that drive sustainable development.
