Economics, Finance, Business Research: A Student Research Conference Held at MNU

The III ISE MNU Student Research Conference – 2025 took place at Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU). This annual event was held in honour of the 85th anniversary of Maqsut Narikbayev, the university’s honorary rector, respected statesman, and public figure.

The conference brought together undergraduate and graduate students from Maqsut Narikbayev University, Astana IT University, Almaty Management University, as well as students from the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools in Karaganda, Kokshetau, and Petropavlovsk. In his welcome speech, MNU Provost Sergey Pen highlighted the importance of involving students in research as part of preparing a competitive new generation of specialists. Zhanybek Aigazin, CEO of the Applied Economics Research Center, also spoke about the value of applied science and analytics in addressing current socio-economic issues facing the country.

The conference’s poster session allowed students to present their research on a wide range of important and timely topics, encouraging meaningful discussion and exchange of ideas. Topics included the impact of innovation on economic growth and productivity, the potential for arbitrage using stablecoins on cryptocurrency exchanges, the influence of socio-economic and demographic factors on trust in government institutions in transitional economies, and the effect of sustainable ESG practices on corporate financial performance. The expert panel praised the quality and analytical depth of the projects and awarded the authors of the most outstanding works. 

The ISE MNU Student Research Conference continues to strengthen the university’s research environment, foster critical thinking among students, and support the development of future researchers, analysts, and managers capable of addressing today’s global challenges.

MNU Launches New Master’s Programme in Political Science and International Relations

Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU) is taking its postgraduate education to the next level. Starting from the new academic year, the International School of Economics will launch a master’s programme in Political Science and International Relations.

The Master’s programme in Political Science and International Relations is a two-year programme designed to develop analytical and critical thinking, as well as research skills that are in demand both locally and internationally. The language of instruction is English. The faculty consists of degree holders who are graduates of leading international universities, including recipients of the prestigious Bolashak international scholarship, with extensive experience in both academia and industry at the national and international levels.

The new academic programme includes courses in critical geopolitics, the foreign policy of great powers, the geopolitics of cyberspace, and geo-economics. It also offers courses aimed at developing research competencies, such as qualitative and quantitative research methods, thesis writing, and research practice. In addition, the curriculum features pedagogical development, including teaching practice and a course on higher education pedagogy.

The BBA in Marketing Programme at MNU Receives Prestigious British Accreditation

MNU’s Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Administration in Marketing has been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), one of the world’s leading professional marketing bodies, established in the UK in 1911.
