Students at Maqsut Narikbayev University will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of capital markets and investment analysis. The University’s International School of Economics, in partnership with the Academy of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), is launching a minor programme.
The programme covers financial market infrastructure, securities, ethics and professional standards, as well as derivative financial instruments. As part of the practical course, students will work with real-world KASE cases and explore the process of preparing a company for listing, from disclosure requirements to entering the stock exchange. Students will also develop their own listing plan for a real Kazakhstani company and present it in the format of a professional consulting proposal.
The programme aims to prepare qualified professionals for brokerage firms, stock exchanges, asset management companies, as well as corporate finance and investor relations departments. Successful completion of the minor will enable students to apply modern risk assessment tools, understand trading and post-trading infrastructure, evaluate issuers’ ESG performance, and navigate the regulatory framework of Kazakhstan’s domestic capital market.
The programme is scheduled to launch in the coming months.
