Visa and Migration Support for Foreign Nationals
MNU provides administrative support to international students and employees regarding visa documentation, registration, and compliance with the migration requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
– FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS –

Student Visa
A multiple-entry visa valid for one year, allowing multiple entries into and exits from the Republic of Kazakhstan.
APPLICATION IN KAZAKHSTAN
- Original passport;
- The passport must remain valid for at least 3 months after the visa expiry date and contain at least 2 blank pages;
- Consular fee – 30 MCI to the MNU account;
- Completed visa application form with a photograph;
- Certificate confirming completion of fingerprinting;
- RKA address code of residence.
APPLICATION ABROAD
- Copy of the passport;
- Residential address in Kazakhstan;
- Address of the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan where the application will be submitted.
AFTER ARRIVAL IN KAZAKHSTAN

Notify the International Office of your arrival in Kazakhstan.

Provide the required documents and information regarding your place of residence.

Complete fingerprinting, if required under the applicable regulations.

Provide the RKA address code of residence.

Promptly report any change of address and each departure from Kazakhstan.

Work Visa
A multiple-entry visa valid for one year, allowing multiple entries into and exits from the Republic of Kazakhstan.
APPLICATION IN KAZAKHSTAN
- Original passport;
- Consular fee – 30 MCI;
- Visa application form with a photograph;
- Certificate confirming completion of fingerprinting;
- Nostrified diploma – for teaching activities;
- Copy of the employment contract;
- RKA address code of residence;
- Apostilled marriage and birth certificates – when processing documents for family members.
APPLICATION ABROAD
- Copy of the passport;
- Residential address in Kazakhstan;
- Address of the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Copy of the nostrified diploma;
- Copies of apostilled marriage and birth certificates – when processing documents for family members;
- Copy of the employment contract.
– FOR CITIZENS OF CIS COUNTRIES –
For foreign nationals arriving from CIS countries, a temporary residence permit (TRP) is issued upon arrival in the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the applicable requirements.
TRP for Students
- Original passport;
- Certificate confirming completion of fingerprinting;
- IIN;
- Notarised consent of the apartment owner;
- Birth certificate – if the consent is provided by a parent;
- RKA address code of residence.
TRP for Employees
- Original passport;
- Certificate confirming completion of fingerprinting;
- IIN;
- Copy of the employment contract;
- Notarised translations of marriage and birth certificates – for family members;
- Notarised consent of the apartment owner;
- RKA address code of residence.
Arrival Notification
In accordance with the applicable regulations, the receiving party – the University – is required to notify the migration service of the arrival of a foreign national in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- The notification must be submitted within 3 working days from the date of the foreign national’s entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- A notification is also required when the place of residence changes.
- This requirement applies to foreign nationals regardless of the method of entry – by visa, TRP, or under a visa-free regime.
- The notification is submitted by the receiving party. The foreign national is not required to contact the migration service personally to submit the notification.
Liability for Late Notification
Failure to submit an arrival notification on time may result in a fine of 10 to 20 MCI.

Visa and migration requirements may change. Before submitting documents, applicants are advised to verify the current requirements with the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the place where the documents will be submitted.
