Visa and migration issues
Student Visa: C9
The C9 multiple entry visa is issued for one year with the possibility of multiple entries/exits to/from the Republic of Kazakhstan, and is subject to renewal every year.
Visa issuance in the Republic of Kazakhstan:
Documents required from a foreign student:
- • Original passport used to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan (which must not expire earlier than 3 months from the date of visa expiry and must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa and stamps);
- • Consular fee (payment for Visa 30 INR to MNU account);
- • Completed visa application form with photo;
- • Dactyloscopy certificate;
- • RCA code of residential address.
Obtaining a Visa Invitation (applying for a Foreign Visa):
Documents required from a foreign student:
- • Copy of the passport that will be used to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan (which must not expire earlier than 3 months from the date of visa expiry and must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa and stamps);
- • Submission to the Inter. Office the address of residence and the address of the Embassy where the student will apply for the visa.
* The list of documents should be clarified at the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the place of visa application (it is the personal responsibility of the applicant to check the list of required documents).
Working Visa: C3
The C3 multiple entry visa is issued for one year with the possibility of multiple entries/exits to/from the Republic of Kazakhstan, and must be renewed every year.
Registration of Visa in the Republic of Kazakhstan:
Documents required from the Foreign Employee:
- • The original passport used to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan (which must not expire earlier than 3 months from the date of visa expiry and must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa and stamps);
- • Consular fee (payment for Visa 30 INR to MNU account);
- • Completed visa application form with photo;
- • Dactyloscopy certificate;
- • Nostrified diploma (for teaching activity);
- • Apostilled marriage and birth certificates (for family members);
- • Copy of employment contract;
- • RCA code of residential address.
Obtaining a Visa Invitation (applying for a Foreign Visa):
Documents required from a foreign employee:
- • Copy of the foreign passport that will be used to enter the RoK (which must not expire earlier than 3 months from the date of visa expiry and must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa and stamps);
- • Providing the Inter. Office the address of residence and the address of the Embassy where the employee will apply for the Visa;
- • Copy of a nostrified diploma (for teaching);
- • Copies of apostilled marriage and birth certificates (for family members);
- • Copy of the employment contract.
*The list of documents should be clarified at the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the place of visa application (it is the personal responsibility of the applicant to check the list of required documents).
Visa and migration issues (for CIS countries)
For students arriving from CIS countries, a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) is issued upon arrival in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Documents required from a foreign student:
- • The original of the passport used to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan (which must not expire earlier than 3 months from the date of visa expiry and must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa and stamps);
- • Dactyloscopy certificate;
- • IIN;
- • Notarised agreement from the landlord for accommodation, in case of not staying in the MNU hostel (if the agreement is for the student’s parent, a birth certificate will be required);
- • RCA code of residential address.
Documents required from a foreign employee:
- • Original of the foreign passport used to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan (which must not expire earlier than 3 months from the date of visa expiry and must contain at least 2 blank pages for visa and stamps);
- • Dactyloscopy certificate;
- • IIN;
- • Copy of the employment contract;
- • Original (notarised translations) marriage/birth certificates for family members applying for a residence permit;
- • Notarised consent from the landlord for residence, in case of not staying in MNU hostel;
- • RCA code of residential address.
IMPORTANT
*In case of any changes in the addresses of residence in Astana city of foreign employees, it is necessary to inform the ICD Manager about these changes.
*The foreign citizen must notify the ICD Manager about each entry/exit.
*According to the current rules, the receiving party (University) is obliged to notify the Migration Service of the arrival of a foreign citizen in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as of a Change of Place of Residency. This must be done within 3 working days from the date of entry of the foreign citizen.
*Notification is required in all cases irrespective of the procedure of entry – by Visa, TRP or within the framework of visa-free regime. The notification is submitted by the receiving party. The foreign citizen himself does not need to apply to the Migration Service.
* Failure to notify of the arrival in a timely manner is punishable by a fine of 10 to 20 INR.
