Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted a sightseeing tour of Astana’s main attractions for international students in celebration of Republic Day.
The event, organised by the University and the student organisation, provided students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Kazakhstan’s capital, learn more about country’s history and see the cultural symbols that make the city of Astana unique.
The tour programme included prominent places that have become symbols of the city: students started with the Ferris Wheel, which gave them a breathtaking view of the city, then went to Khan Shatyr and to the top of Bayterek. Further they took a trip to the monumental residence of Akorda, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, and the largest ‘Khazret Sultan’ mosque.
The day was finalised by visiting the National Museum, where students explored the history of Kazakhstan, and viewed the Expo Legacy.
Overall, this day was not only an opportunity for students to get to know Astana, but also to experience the hospitality and culture of our country.
