Bachelor of Arts in the 6B02302 – Applied Linguistics educational programme.
The aim of the Applied Linguistics programme is to train diversely developed specialist-linguists of a wide profile, with a profound knowledge of two foreign languages, possessing the methodology of sociological research, with an ability to apply modern approaches in teaching foreign languages, translation and interpretation, with skills of editing and media writing.
The educational programme is formed on the basis of the requirements of the State Educational Standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the requirements of the modern market and employers.
The programme of Applied Linguistics is developed taking into account the best world practices and the requirements of the modern labour market for specialists in the field of applied linguistics.
The programme was presented at the Business Council of the SLA, which includes foreign and Kazakhstani employers and specialists in the field of linguistics and foreign language teaching methods.
The programme is presented in two forms of study, full-time (4 years) and shortened (3 years).
To complete the degree in 4 years, a student must complete 248 academic credits. This form of education is provided for those entering on the basis of secondary education. Those entering after college (on the basis of secondary vocational education) have the opportunity to complete their studies in 3 years, having mastered 192 academic credits.
