The Policy of ensuring the health and safety of students, employees and visitors (hereinafter referred to as the Policy) of Maqsut Narikbayev University (hereinafter referred to as MNU) defines the procedure for organizing healths services for students, employees and visitors of MNU, including foreigners and stateless persons, and is also aimed at protecting health and ensuring their rights to health services in the Republic of Kazakhstan during their studies, work and stay at MNU.
This policy regulates the activities of the MNU Medical Center (hereinafter referred to as the medical Center). The medical center is a division of the Department of Student Affairs. According to the contract for the provision of medical services concluded between MNU and CITY LLP Medical Center, which ensures the operation of a medical center in the university building, in accordance with the rules of “Sanitary and Epidemiological requirements for educational facilities” approved by Order of the Minister of Health dated August 5, 2021 No. RK DSM-76.

Health services at the medical center includes an examination by a paramedic and a general practitioner, nurse services, injections and first aid, all services to the signed individuals of CITY LLP Medical Center are always provided free of charge by the medical center.
Students, staff and visitors of MNU can visit the medical center under any circumstances without restrictions.
In case of emergency or in life-threating situations, contact the medical center for medical assistance (if the person in need is located on the territory of MNU), or please dial 103.
To obtain instrumental studies, functional diagnostics, and diagnosis, you can consult with functional specialist at the city outpatients clinic of CITY LLP Medical Center, Anet Baba Street building 13/3, 13/4 with the referral of a general practitioner and a therapist. MNU students and staff signed to the outpatients clinic are provided with a 15% discount on additional medical services and laboratory tests not included in the GAFMC package, CSHI provided on a fee basis, including foreign students and foreign employees of MNU.
The medical center does not provide intensive care. For treatment, it is necessary to contact clinics in Astana.
Students can contact the medical center for help of the nurse before 18:00 (on Saturday until 14:00).

Photofluorography of nonresident students must be certified in the X-ray room of any medical institution.
Foreign students must also submit documents to the medical center, but it is important to know that medical documents issued in their native country may not be valid in Astana, therefore, we recommend that you have a copy of the vaccination card with you, whereas a foreign student and an employee can issue a certificate f-086/y and undergo a fluorographic examination in Astana.
Upon arrival in Kazakhstan it is strongly recommended to purchase, a voluntary health insurance package that includes full coverage of health services. A medical insurance policy made in your home country may not cover treatment and hospitalization. Moreover, even if the company agrees that a certain case is insured, the foreign student or employee will have to pay on their own — receiving compensation is possible later, upon return to their home country.
If a foreign student or an employee applies for services in a medical institution, it is necessary to notify the employee of the medical center.
Prevention and treatment of tuberculosis is one of the priorities in the field of healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is supported by legislative acts of the State and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. An annual preventive fluorographic examination is mandatory for all residents of the country, evasion from examination entails administrative punishment.
Tuberculosis at an early stage of the disease can be effectively treated. It is necessary to undergo a fluorographic examination in a timely manner.
If a foreign student or an employee applies to a medical institution, it is necessary to notify the employee of the medical center.
According to state requirements, all MNU students and staff must undergo an annual fluorographic examination and provide the results with a description to the medical center. There is a possibility that for students and staff who have not provided the examination results in a timely manner access to the AIS “Platonus” will be blocked.
1. The medical staff of the medical center does not have the right to exempt a student from exams or projects. The final decision is made by the professor, the faculty or the relevant committee.
2. A medical certificate is not issued “by the past date” (i.e. if the student did not attend classes due to illness and did not seek medical help during the illness).
3. Sick leave of employees is provided only to the HR department.
