The Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan focused on the improvement of media legislation.
Deans of journalism faculties at various universities across the country have actively engaged in a discussion of the proposed amendments to the law “On the Mass Media”.
The experts noted the importance of shortening the time limits for considering journalistic requests and suggested introducing specific administrative penalties for officials who obstruct the work of the media. In their opinion, such measures would create more favorable conditions for the professional activities of journalists and improve the quality of information provided to the public.
