Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU) hosted a roundtable discussion on labour arbitration reform in Kazakhstan. Organised by the MIND Analytics and Research Center in collaboration with the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the event brought together MNU professors, senators, trade union representatives, and industry experts.
Labour arbitration serves as an alternative mechanism for resolving collective labour disputes and plays a crucial role in fostering effective social dialogue between employees and employers. The roundtable was held as part of the ongoing discussion on a draft law proposing amendments to the regulation of collective labour relations.
“The draft law, developed jointly by members of Parliament and our professors from the Scientific School of Labour Law, is specifically designed to uphold the principle of social justice in the labour sector. It is essential to unite all social partners—the state, trade unions, and employers’ associations—to ensure inclusive and well-balanced decisions,” noted Sergey Pen, Provost of MNU.
