Today, on September 16th, 2024, Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted an important visit of the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz. This event was a key part of his official visit to Kazakhstan, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
Chairman of the Board of MNU, Talgat Narikbayev, welcomed the guest and expressed his gratitude for the Chancellor’s attention to partnership issues.
During the visit, Olaf Scholz conducted a Q&A session with students of our university, discussing current international political issues and the prospects for Kazakhstan-Germany cooperation. In response to a student’s question about future cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany, the Chancellor emphasized the importance of exchanging information and experiences between two countries.
«This not only fosters development but also brings mutual benefits. Cooperation and the exchange of opportunities are becoming fundamental aspects of global interconnectivity. Germany, for its part, is open to information exchange and the strengthening of partnerships, which play a crucial role in modern international relations », – he said.
Olaf Scholz‘s visit was a significant event for both Maqsut Narikbayev University and Kazakhstan‘s higher education system as a whole. The university has previously hosted world leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron and current NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, reaffirming MNU’s status as a hub for international academic exchange.
At the closure of the event, the University presented a memorable gift to the Chancellor as a token of respect and gratitude for his visit.
