Information Resources Manager (IRM) in the Reader Service Department (RSD)

Responsibilities:

  • To make timely placement of books in accordance with the  American Library classification LLC and BBK. Edit the fund (making sure that the books are in their places);
  • To advise readers on working in an Electronic Catalogue, teach self-searching;
  • Make sure that readers do not enter the library in outerwear, with coffee and food;
  • Analyse readers’ demand for literature, what they are asking for and recommend literature for purchase;
  • Working with lists of books, inventory, checking funds;
  • Preparation of presentations and conducting training sessions for students on working with an Electronic Catalogue, Electronic resources;
  • Organization of events for students: contests, quests, quizzes and other types of events.

Eligibility requirements: 

  • Attention to detail and responsibility;
  • Knowledge of English;
  • Experience in customer service, good communication skills;
  • The ability to solve conflicts;
  • Analytical skills, good memory;
  • Knowledge of Office programs MS Excel, MS Word;
  • Confident work with office equipment (printers, scanners, digitization of books on orders);

Teaching professor “History of Kazakhstan”

Required work experience: 3-6 years

Full-time

Possible part-time: in shifts of 4-6 hours

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of curriculum and discipline materials;
  • Completing and maintaining information systems within the discipline (Platonus, Canvas, etc.) in a timely manner during the semester;
  • Compliance with the regulations of the university, requirements of the university bodies;
  • Adherence to pedagogical ethics;
  • Providing timely feedback to students and weekly office hours;
  • Timely and proper fulfillment of instructions from the Higher School and University’s management;
  • Preparation, implementation of examinations and assessment of students’ achievements;
  • Constant monitoring of students attendance.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree (preferably from a foreign university) (preferably internationally accredited and/or internationally recognized);
  • The language of instruction – English;
  • Professional and/or teaching and research experience;
  • Professional development, foreign internships, membership in professional and scientific organizations and communities are welcomed;
  • Knowledge of teaching methodology; application of modern technologies, conducting research on the profile of the disciplines taught;
  • At least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal recognized by the professional community or equivalent – in books, monographs, etc.;
  • Adaptability, ability to work with an audience, creativity, diligence, teamwork, responsibility;
  • IELTS no less than 7,0 (and/or TOEFL/CAE equivalent) and/or.

  • Teaching language is English;
  • Professional and/or teaching and research experience;
  • Advanced training, foreign internships, membership in professional and scientific organizations and communities are encouraged;
  • Knowledge of teaching methodology; application of modern technologies, conducting research on the profile of the disciplines taught;
  • At least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal recognized by the professional community or equivalent – in books, monographs, etc.;
  • Adaptability, ability to work with an audience, creativity, diligence, teamwork, responsibility;
