A regular meeting of the Business Council of MNU Law School was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University. Employers, partners, and faculty members discussed the training of legal professionals in the context of digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The event brought together representatives of government agencies, leading Kazakhstani and international law firms, as well as members of the academic and methodological association for the “Law” discipline. Participants shared proposals to enhance the effectiveness of legal education and exchanged views on the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Legal Education in Kazakhstan for 2025-2030. Provost of Maqsut Narikbayev University, Sergey Pen, emphasized that modern legal education must stay ahead of the challenges of the time and serve as the foundation for the professional and ethical standards of future legal professionals.
The Business Council is a permanent advisory and consultative body of the MNU Law School. Dean Olga Bektibayeva noted that the opinions of employers and partners are essential and contribute to the school’s ongoing development. In particular, as a result of proposals voiced at previous Business Council meetings, changes were made to the curriculum of the “International Law” program.

Participants at the meeting paid special attention to the integration of AI into the curriculum and the subsequent management of the educational process. The AI integration plan includes introducing an introductory course across all undergraduate programs, incorporating specialized modules into sector-specific and applied disciplines, and training the faculty. Earlier, Dean of MNU Law School Olga Bektibayeva outlined plans to implement an additional track focused on the use of AI, which could significantly optimize the handling of routine legal tasks.
It is worth noting that the Business Council has become an important platform for strategic dialogue between the university, the legal community, and government bodies. The substantive recommendations of the council members have been carefully considered by the administration of MNU Law School.
