BACHELOR OF SOCIAL SCIENCE IN “6B03101-PSYCHOLOGY”

The aim of the programme is to prepare a highly sought-after specialist in cognitive, organizational, consultative and social psychology. Graduates of the programme will be able to carry out research work in the field of psychology, as well as practical work in providing psychological assistance or organizational counselling. Students can learn an additional specialisation (minor) in speech pathologist, brand analyst and HR analyst with a certificate of their own design. After completing the programme, graduates are eligible to apply for the European qualification EuroPSY.

Programme structure

The Psychology programme is designed in alignment with leading international and domestic practices while meeting the evolving demands of the modern labor market for psychology professionals. The programme has been validated by the SLA Business Council, which consists of employers and experts in practical psychology.

The programme offers two study formats:

  • A 4-year full-time Bachelor’s programme

  • A 3-year accelerated programme, in accordance with credit-based education requirements

To earn a degree in 4 years, students must complete 248 academic credits.
For those entering with a secondary vocational education background (college graduates), a 3-year track is available, requiring 184 academic credits.

Students have the flexibility to design their own individual learning trajectory, allowing them to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Full details of course offerings are available in the Liberal Arts academic catalogue.

 

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to:

  • Apply analytical and synthetic thinking to solve professional challenges effectively.

  • Assess resource requirements and strategically plan their utilization to address professional tasks.

  • Search, select, analyze, and process relevant information using modern technologies across various sources to solve scientific and professional problems.

  • Communicate effectively, adapting to different goals and situational contexts.

  • Critically evaluate and reflect on personal and professional experiences, integrating insights into professional and social activities.

  • Recognize, assess, and critically reflect on professional activities in accordance with ethical, normative, and professional standards.

  • Measure and assess psychological and psychophysiological characteristics of individuals and groups using appropriate methodologies.

  • Identify the need for psychological interventions, design and implement them, and evaluate their effectiveness.

  • Provide psychological support in research planning, data processing, interpretation, and presentation of results.

 

MINOR PROGRAMMES

One of the key advantages of the programme is the opportunity to obtain an additional specialization, enabling students to broaden their career prospects and enhance their employability.

School of Liberal Arts offers the following additional specialisations (minor/minors) for study:
• Cognitive-behavioural Therapy;
• Brand Analytics;
• HR Analytics;
• Legal Psychology.

 

Minors have specific admission requirements, including:

  • GPA, prerequisite courses, and other criteria.

  • A structured sequence of courses studied progressively.

  • The option to be offered as a standalone certification programme for various student categories.

  • A cumulative system, allowing students to complete courses across different academic periods in a sequential manner to earn a certificate.

  • Independent selection by students from the school’s academic catalog.

  • Integration within the main educational programme (with minor courses counted within the 240 ECTS of the main program) and/or pursued additionally.

  • Certification upon fulfilling all course completion requirements.

 

Students may enroll in a maximum of two minors within their major programme of study. Those wishing to pursue more than two minors must apply to the SLA Academic Quality Committee.

If a student does not meet the completion requirements for a certification program, no certificate will be issued.

The duration of certification programs shall not exceed five years.

Credits earned within a certification program can be transferred to educational programs at MNU within five years from the date of registration for the course. After this period, the final grade becomes invalid, and the student must retake the course to receive credit.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Certification Program

The CBT Minor Program provides a practical-theoretical foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Participants will gain theoretical knowledge, develop methodological expertise, and acquire core practical skills in cognitive and behavioral psychology, psychotherapy, and psychological counseling. The program also covers various types and techniques of modern cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy.

Program Objective

The program aims to train competent CBT specialists capable of effectively conducting corrective psychological interventions for individuals experiencing psychological disorders caused by dysfunctional thought and behavior patterns.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the theoretical framework required to develop skills in the cognitive-behavioral paradigm.

  • Develop CBT therapist competencies, including the ability to assess an individual’s behavior using relevant techniques.

  • Analyze client situations using the cognitive-behavioral approach.

  • Apply methodological tools for conducting CBT-based consultations.

  • Identify and assess clients’ dysfunctional beliefs and automatic thoughts, and develop adaptive responses to improve mental well-being.

CBT for Anxiety and Depressive Disorders

This programme is designed to train specialists with a strong foundation in the theory and practice of team management, psychological influence, and managerial decision-making. Graduates will be proficient in personnel selection and evaluation, HR data analysis, and social research, as well as management consulting.

Programme Objective

The programme aims to develop competent HR analytics specialists with expertise in psychological interventions, team management, personnel assessment, HR and social research data analysis, and management consulting. Graduates will be equipped to effectively manage teams, optimize HR processes, and implement psychological strategies to improve workplace dynamics.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Analyse managerial activities, organizational structures, and the effectiveness of managerial decisions in human capital management.

  • Apply psychological principles to assess and optimise organizational processes.

  • Develop and implement innovation management strategies, particularly in HR and personnel management.

  • Conduct HR and social research using advanced cluster and regression analysis techniques.

  • Evaluate and apply modern management consulting models, including analysis and improvement of organizational mechanisms.

  • Implement strategies for organisational structure correction, cultural transformation, and leadership style enhancement to foster a productive and psychologically healthy work environment.

Brand Analyst Certification Programme

This programme equips students with foundational knowledge in marketing, social media analysis, and employer brand management. Participants will also explore the psychological aspects of sales and advertising, along with the application of audiovisual technologies in advertising.

Programme Objective

The programme trains specialists capable of identifying reputation risks, analyzing key media trends, and interpreting information flows. Graduates will be able to develop dashboards, prepare analytical reports, and effectively apply social media analytics in PR, marketing, and corporate strategy.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Analyze a company’s products and brand positioning while applying marketing tools effectively.

  • Develop strategic communication systems using various mass media channels.

  • Conduct brand audits to assess and manage both employer and personal brand reputation.

Legal Psychology Certification Programme

This minor is designed to equip students with the fundamentals of psychology as applied to legal practice. The programme provides hands-on experience through analysis of medical and psychological examination reports, offender personality assessments, and the development of victimological prevention strategies, as well as correction and rehabilitation programs for individuals with delinquent behavior.

Programme Objective

The programme aims to train specialists who can effectively apply psychological principles in legal contexts, including:

  • Planning victimological prevention measures

  • Identifying key expert questions for judges, lawyers, and prosecutors

  • Developing correction and rehabilitation programmes for individuals exhibiting deviant and delinquent behavior

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Analyse legal information in the context of professional psychological practice.

  • Understand the determinants and psychological mechanisms of deviant behavior, and apply diagnostic, corrective, and preventive methods.

  • Assess the psychological characteristics of offenders and criminal groups.

  • Organize and implement general and individual crime victimization prevention strategies.

  • Conduct crime and corruption prevention by identifying and addressing contributing factors.
