UNHCR Corner opening ceremony

On May 29, 2023, Maqsut Narikbayev University proudly hosted H.E. Indrika Ratwatte, Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), at the opening ceremony of the new UNHCR Corner in the university’s Public Library. This dedicated space aims to raise awareness of refugee issues and support UNHCR’s mission through educational resources and events. H.E. Ratwatte’s presence underscored the importance of global responsibility and empathy toward refugees, inspiring students and faculty to engage with critical humanitarian topics.
