Scientific Discussion on the Topic: “The Role of Labor Law and Social Dialogue in Protecting the Life and Health of Workers”

On October 7, 2023, Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted a scientific discussion on the topic “The Role of Labor Law and Social Dialogue in Protecting the Life and Health of Workers.” The event brought together leading experts in labor and social law, as well as representatives of trade unions and the business community, to discuss current issues in the legal regulation of occupational safety and the strengthening of social partnership.

Among the speakers were Muslim Khasenov (PhD, Associate Professor at MNU), Nikita Lyutov (Doctor of Law, Associate Professor at MNU), Mukhtar Tinikeev (First Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan), Akniyet Bakhytzhan Arynuly (Deputy Secretary General of the Confederation of Labor of Kazakhstan), Oleg Pak (Chairman of the Board of the “Parasat” Entrepreneurs’ Alliance), Meiram Kazhyken (Doctor of Economics, Professor at Astana International University), and Laura Zakeyeva (Head of the “Law&Work” Public Foundation, PhD student at MNU).

The discussion served as an effective expert platform for exchanging views on the development of labor legislation, improving workplace safety, and enhancing mechanisms of social dialogue between employees, employers, and the state. As a result of the discussion, a set of proposals was formulated aimed at strengthening the system of labor rights protection for citizens and promoting the principles of decent work in Kazakhstan.
