Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted a lecture by Hamish Pauls, Deputy General Director of Tengizchevroil LLP for Government and Public Relations. His talk, delivered as part of the Business School’s lecture series, featured insights from a senior leader of one of the largest Kazakh–American enterprises.
Hamish Pauls shared his professional experience, reflecting on key career milestones and decisions that shaped his approach to management and leadership. He emphasised that Kazakhstan is an ideal environment for professional development, noting that political stability, cultural diversity and an open society create unique conditions for talent growth and the successful implementation of major projects.
During the lecture, he also spoke about the specific features of working in the Atyrau region. Over the years, he has become familiar with local culture and traditions, which have significantly enriched both his professional and personal life. He answered students’ questions about career progression, corporate culture and personal motivation.
It is worth noting that Tengizchevroil is the largest taxpayer in Kazakhstan.
