Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU) will be among the universities connected to OpenAI’s educational platform, ChatGPT Edu. This was announced by Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during MNU’s student initiation ceremony.
The licensed educational platform will enable faculty, students, and university staff to use artificial intelligence in teaching, research, and administrative activities. According to the minister, the pilot project is scheduled for next year and will provide access to 40,000 educators and several thousand students from Kazakh universities and colleges. Sayasat Nurbek emphasised that the goal is to fundamentally transform the educational model.
Earlier this November, at the C5+1 Business Forum in Washington, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, OpenAI, Inc., and Freedom Holding Corp. The agreement aims to foster cooperation in education, digital transformation, and the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into Kazakhstan’s higher, technical, and vocational education system.
It is worth noting that MNU, along with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Court, MAЦ, AITU, and CUPL, previously announced the launch of a joint project, LegalTech Lab, which plans to develop an AI model to assist in preparing legal documents.
