MNU Professors Contribute to Constitutional Reform Proposals

Professors and staff of Maqsut Narikbayev University have been appointed to the Commission on Constitutional Reform (the Constitutional Commission). The advisory and consultative body was formally established by a decree of the President of Kazakhstan.

As noted by the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the Fifth Session of the National Kurultai, the Commission will thoroughly examine and consolidate all proposals and prepare a draft of specific amendments. The Commission brings together members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chairs of Maslihat, media executives, public figures, representatives of state bodies, regional public councils, and members of the expert and academic communities. Among them are Emeritus Professor Sergey Udartsev, Unzila Shapak, Chairman of the MNU Board Talgat Narikbayev, and Assistant Professor Indira Aubakirova.

MNU’s academic community also played an active role in drafting the current Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
