Maqsut Narikbayev University hosted a delegation from the European Public Law Organization (EPLO). Representatives of the international organisation met with the University’s leadership to discuss promising areas of partnership.
The visit by the EPLO delegation strengthened the University’s international academic ties and outlined new avenues for cooperation. During the meeting, the parties agreed to explore the development of a joint educational programme in the field of administrative law. In addition, EPLO representatives briefed the University’s professors on the organisation’s key initiatives and familiarised themselves with the University’s infrastructure.
As part of the visit, a lecture was delivered to students by the Director of EPLO’s Italian Office, Professor Bernardo Giorgio Mattarella. The lecture focused on Administrative Procedural Law in a Comparative Perspective. The Professor examined the specifics of decision-making by public authorities in different countries, drawing on examples from industrial development, territorial planning, and public safety.
“Administrative processes vary in their level of complexity and the time required for decision-making. Unlike legislative and judicial processes, they are regulated differently depending on their scale and nature. Such diversity poses significant challenges for public law professionals. It is essential to train specialists capable of analysing complex processes and applying international experience in the practice of administrative law,” emphasised Bernardo Giorgio Mattarella.
It should be recalled that EPLO is engaged in disseminating knowledge in the field of public law and promoting European values. Previously, on the sidelines of the Strategic Partners Forum Kazakhstan – The Land of Academic Knowledge, MNU signed a cooperation agreement with the international organisation.
