MNU Enhances Employee Well-Being Through Housing, Healthcare, and Education Support

Maqsut Narikbayev University is adopting the best global practices in corporate governance. Around 50 university employees have received non-repayable financial assistance for housing purchases, medical treatment, loan repayment, and payment for their children’s education.

The University adheres to the Well-being concept, which implies holistic human well-being by combining physical health, emotional resilience, social connections, and financial stability. In this regard, a Staff Support Fund was established at the University in 2023. Its goal is to provide targeted assistance to employees facing socio-economic difficulties and to help improve their quality of life.

“Within the framework of the fund’s activities, our faculty members and staff receive financial support on a non-repayable basis. This includes payment for medical services related to illnesses of the employee, their spouse, children, and parents. We also provide assistance with down payments when purchasing housing through mortgage programs and support in cases of high debt burden. In addition, employees can count on support in covering the cost of their children’s higher education within Kazakhstan,” said Talgat Narikbayev, Chairman of the Board of MNU.

It is worth noting that since the fund began operating, 80 applications have been reviewed, more than half of which were approved by a special commission. This year alone, more than 10 employees received financial assistance for medical treatment and rehabilitation for themselves and their family members, another 14 employees were able to repay their loans, and three employees received support to cover down payments when purchasing housing under mortgage programs. Over this period, the total volume of funds allocated through the fund has tripled.
