
Representatives of the Student Assembly of Maqsut Narikbayev University were briefed on the draft of the new Basic Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The university hosted a meeting between students and members of the nationwide coalition “For the People’s Constitution of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan!”
The event, organized jointly with the national public association Zhastar Assembly brought together members of student assemblies from universities in the capital, ethnocultural associations, and representatives of the expert community. During the meeting, MNU students were presented with a certificate confirming the official status of the Student Assembly. In addition, participants discussed the upcoming national referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution.
The Chairman of Zhastar Assembly, Timur Dzhumurbaev, addressed the participants. According to him, the Constitution reflects the fundamental interests of the people, and the process of ongoing global reforms is historic for society as a whole, especially for the youth. He also noted that Zhastar Assembly has broadly supported the draft of the new Basic Law, as it serves as the foundation of a successfully established state, and its human-centered nature opens up significant opportunities for Kazakhstan’s younger generation.
The Chairman of the capital’s Uzbek ethnocultural association, Sherzod Pulatov, also spoke at the event. He emphasized that prioritizing the values of culture, science, and education signals a new stage in the development of human capital, as well as substantial support measures for young talents. The importance of holding similar meetings at other universities and further explaining the key provisions of the new Constitution to the youth community was also highlighted.
The event concluded with creative performances by members of the Student Assemblies.
