Maqsut Narikbayev University has announced the opening of applications for the MNU Summer School program aimed at studying Kazakh and Russian languages for international students and visitors to the city of Astana. The program will take place from June 15 to July 5, 2026.
The three-week intensive course (90 academic hours) is designed to develop communicative and conversational skills in a multilingual academic environment. The program includes accommodation, meals, and excursions to the major attractions of the capital and the Akmola region. Applications are accepted until April 10 of this year (inclusive) via email at g_alimbayeva@kazguu.kz.
The participation package costs $2000 per participant and includes:
- – training within an intensive language program;
- – accommodation in a student dormitory/hostel;
- – two meals per day (breakfast and lunch from Monday to Saturday);
- – airport transfer;
- – access to the university’s gym and library;
- – cultural and entertainment program on weekends.
As part of the cultural program, participants will explore the history, culture, and natural heritage of Kazakhstan. The program includes excursions to key attractions of the capital and the region, including:
- – a historical city tour of Astana;
- – a walk along the Ishim River embankment and a riverboat cruise;
- – a visit to the Botai Museum-Reserve, an ancient Eneolithic settlement associated with the early domestication of horses;
- – a trip to the Burabay State National Nature Park;
- – a visit to the ALZHIR Museum and Memorial Complex, dedicated to the victims of political repression;
- – excursion to the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan
- – a visit to the house-museum of jeweler Berik Alibay.
The implementation of the program is aimed at fostering a multilingual academic environment, promoting intercultural communication, and expanding the educational mobility of international participants. In addition, the initiative supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 and SDG 10) by providing access to high-quality language education and expanding inclusive opportunities for participants with different levels of prior language proficiency.
