An international roundtable titled “Kazakhstan’s New Constitutional Model: Towards a Sustainable and Modern State” was held at Maqsut Narikbayev University. During the event, an analytical report was presented, focusing on the key directions of the country’s political and institutional transformation.
The report was prepared by a group of international and domestic experts. The authors outlined their vision for the development of Kazakhstan’s constitutional model in the context of ongoing political and institutional modernization. The document analyzes the logic of the constitutional reform, its institutional parameters, mechanisms for protecting citizens’ rights, and the value-based priorities for the country’s long-term development.
The event was organized jointly with the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As noted by the Institute’s Director, Zhandos Shaimardanov, the constitutional reform is part of a broader process of political and institutional transformation in the country. Meanwhile, MNU Deputy Chairman for Research, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Sergey Pen emphasized that the reform consolidates institutional changes aimed at strengthening governance, modernizing the political system, and adapting state institutions to new development challenges.
During the roundtable, participants exchanged views on the presented analytical report. Experts highlighted that continued discussion of the constitutional reform within the international expert community contributes to a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan’s political and institutional modernization processes.
