“Abai Readings,” Quiz, and National Games: Nauryz Celebrated at MNU

Nauryz was widely celebrated at Maqsut Narikbayev University. As part of the nationwide Nauryznama decade, a series of events were held at the university.

The decade opened with performances by the student choir and the orchestra of Kazakh folk instruments, who played popular national compositions. Students also performed traditional dances and competed in tug-of-war and togyzkumalak competitions. In addition, in support of the Digital Nauryz initiative, an image creation contest on the theme “Nauryz in the Digital Age” was organized among university alumni.

Special attention was given to intellectual activities. To promote literary heritage and foster a reading culture, “Abai Readings” were held. An intellectual quiz on knowledge of national traditions and a contest on Kazakh proverbs were also organized.

It is worth noting that the Nauryznama decade concluded with a demonstration of the Kazakh ritual Syrga salu and a праздничное address from the university leadership.
