An expert and analytical roundtable dedicated to the adoption of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Canadian relations was held at the Senate of the Parliament of Canada. Muslim Khasenov, Associate Professor at Maqsut Narikbayev University (MNU), delivered a presentation at the event.
The roundtable brought together representatives of Canada’s political, parliamentary, and analytical communities. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Canada, Dauletbek Kusainov, provided an overview of the current state of bilateral economic cooperation as well as the ongoing reforms in the country. Participants demonstrated strong interest in Kazakhstan’s domestic political transformations, noted the consistency of the reforms being implemented, and expressed their willingness to further study the country’s transformation processes.
During the event, Muslim Khasenov, Associate Professor at MNU and Visiting Fellow at Harvard University, elaborated on the significance of the new Constitution and its role in Kazakhstan’s future political development. It was emphasized that the recent national referendum once again confirmed a high level of public engagement and participation in key political processes. The experts supported the continuation of such meetings and the further development of Kazakh-Canadian dialogue.
