A competition is announced for the award of vacant educational grants released during the process of obtaining higher education based on the results of the 2025–2026 winter examination session.
In accordance with Order No. 443 dated 25 August 2023 of the Acting Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan on approving the Rules for awarding educational grants for higher or postgraduate education leading to the degree of Bachelor or Master, educational grants released during the process of obtaining higher or postgraduate education, including grants intended for persons from western, densely populated, and newly established regions (hereinafter – vacant grants), are awarded on a competitive basis to students studying on a fee-paying basis within groups of educational programmes.
The competition is held based on the results of interim attestation, considering the student’s cumulative GPA score throughout the entire period of study.
In cases where students have equal GPA scores, priority is given to students who have obtained grades of A, A- (“excellent”) throughout the entire period of study. Next in priority are students with grades ranging from A, A- (“excellent”) to B+, B, B-, C+ (“good”), followed by mixed grade results.
The awarding of vacant educational grants during the summer and winter vacation periods is carried out on a competitive basis in the following order. Documents are accepted until 19 February 2026.

Aplication addressed to the Provost (Rector) of JSC M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University with consent to the open publication of the student’s GPA;

Transcript (after completion of the examination session);
- 3
Copy of an identity document;
- 4
Certificate confirming social status (if available).

Please note! Students studying on a fee-paying basis and having no academic debt based on the results of the winter examination session are eligible to participate in the competition.
Students are not allowed to participate if they are:

- not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
-
- have academic debts with grade “F” in the current academic year (during the transfer period to a state educational grant and/or MNU grant);
-
- transferred from other educational programmes or other higher education institutions. Such students are eligible to participate only after completing one full academic year;
-
- have disciplinary penalties (warning, reprimand, or severe reprimand).
