Advisors Office

Academic advising plays a crucial role in the educational journey of students. At Maqsut Narikbayev University, academic support is provided through the Office of Advisors, established within each School. Each advisor is responsible for guiding a designated group of students. This process is a collaborative effort between the advisor and the student, ensuring personalized support and academic success.

 

 

In this joint work, the advisor must:

 

  • •  Be familiar with the requirements, policies, and procedures of the educational programme, School, and Maqsut Narikbayev University.
  • •  Assist students in shaping their professional orientation and competencies by discussing the connection between academic training, life goals, and future careers.
  • •  Provide students with relevant and necessary information about the requirements of the University, School, and Programme.
  • •  Help students plan their educational trajectory each semester and make informed decisions when selecting courses.
  • •  Support students in adapting to the educational process.
  • •  Guide students in effective study planning and time management.
  • •  Represent students’ academic interests before the university administration.
  • •  Monitor and track the academic progress of assigned students.
  • •  Maintain availability by offering sufficient office hours and a reception schedule that meets students’ needs.
  • •  Be attentive to the individual needs of each student, providing personalized guidance and support.

 

The student must:

 

  • •  Be familiar with the policies, course catalogue, and other regulatory documents of Maqsut Narikbayev University, the School, and relevant programmes.
  • •  Plan their study programme to meet the requirements for obtaining an academic degree.
  • •  Track their learning outcomes, earned credits, and received grades.
  • •  Stay informed by regularly checking official university sources (website, AIS Platon, Canvas LMS, etc.) for updates on their academic progress and university life.
  • •  Take responsibility for personal educational decisions and ensure compliance with the university’s graduation requirements.
  • •  Demonstrate initiative by actively participating in consultations and planning their academic journey.
