Aim of the 7M04208 ‘IT in Law’ educational programme:
Intensive practical skills development, covering the latest topics in cybersecurity, data protection, forensics, and IT product regulation.

LO-1 — address and resolve situations under national legislation in a professional and competent manner;
LO-2 — analyse possible legal perspectives and trends in current legislation;
LO-3 — conduct independent and self-directed research with a methodological approach;
LO-4 — use legal knowledge and regulation of digital products in the field of civil circulation and entrepreneurship;
LO-5 — apply personal data protection standards in the context of information technology and identify their violations properly;
LO-6 — carry out the process of collecting digital evidence as well as other relevant data on information technology incidents;
LO-7 — recover practical remedies for infringed e-commerce rights, intellectual property rights in digital products and tort liabilities arising from their use;
LO-8 — possess tools to recover infringed rights in e-commerce, intellectual property in digital products and tort obligations arising from their use;
LO-9 — be able to create and maintain communication links, organise business processes, taking into account the psychological peculiarities of individuals and groups.
The uniqueness of the educational programme ‘IT in Law’ is the successful combination of two areas: legal and technological. In particular, Master students have an opportunity to not only familiarise themselves with the legal support of the sphere of information technologies, but also to study the basics of the engineering aspects. To achieve this goal, the programme is conditionally divided into 2 parts. The cycle of compulsory disciplines includes both legal courses (‘Legal Nature of IT Products’, ‘Personal Data and Digital Surveillance’) and technical courses (‘Digital Systems and Networks’).
The Master’s programme ‘IT in Law’ is implemented by faculty members with relevant education, international experience and academic degrees.
In the current academic year, the IT in Law programme is supported by 12 lecturers, 1 of them is a Doctor of Science, 8 are PhDs/Candidate of Law, 3 are Masters of Science; academic staffing level of the programme is 75%.

It should be noted that two of the 12 faculty members providing instruction are current practitioners.
For example, Vitaliy Perov — a graduate of the University of Washington — USA, Faculty of Professional and Continuing Education is an expert of the Cyberattack Analysis and Investigation Centre and an ICT specialist with more than 20 years of experience in consulting and supporting corporate clients. He also advises on IT operations and strategic decision-making in IT operations, IT governance, service management, and project management. He has in-depth knowledge of emerging cyber threats and tactics used to breach secure IT infrastructure, and has experience in conducting detailed research, investigations using OSINT tools, digital forensics and utilising social media platforms.
Amangeldy Zhumabekov is the founder and CEO of Digital Pax. Digital Pax is an IT company launched on the market of creating websites, web applications, mobile applications, automation systems, implementation of ready-made solutions, automation of business processes and legal consulting on the implementation of IT projects.
Practitioners are also involved on a binary basis. For example, on the course ‘Management and Management Psychology’ Samat Panov is involved as a permanent guest lecturer in binary classes on practice-oriented topics. Samat Panov is a co-founder, director, business coach of Marketing Partners LLP, Astana, holder of Toastmasters International ‘Competent Communicator Gold’ certificate (Competent Communicator Gold level, 40 speeches).
