Course: Fundamentals of Law

Position Purpose
To ensure high-quality delivery of the Fundamentals of Law course, develop students’ foundational knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, enhance legal literacy, and foster the ability to apply legal principles in professional practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, practical classes, and seminars in Fundamentals of Law; Develop and update teaching and learning materials, including:
- syllabus;
- assignments;
- assessment criteria;
- presentation materials;
- Prepare and conduct ongoing, midterm, and final assessments of students’ knowledge;
- Work within the Canvas learning management system;
- Provide academic consultation and support to students;
- Ensure compliance with the principles of academic integrity;
- Participate in the university’s research, methodological, and organisational activities;
- Participate in conferences, seminars, and other academic events.
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Higher education in Law;
- A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
Work Experience
- At least 2–3 years of experience teaching legal disciplines in higher education; or
- Practical professional experience in the legal field.
Professional Competencies
- Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Skills in analysing legal cases;
- Ability to interpret legislation within the context of the media industry;
- Proficiency in modern teaching methods and e-learning technologies.
Software Skills
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications;
- Experience working with the Canvas learning management system;
- Experience using legal databases and information systems.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Kazakh and Russian.
