The International School of Journalism at Maqsut Narikbayev University is preparing to graduate its first cohort of bachelor’s degree students. This year, 25 specialists will receive their diplomas.
In 2021, MNU’s academic offerings were expanded to include a new programme, Journalism: Analytics and Investigations. Two years later, the International School of Journalism was established in partnership with the Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This collaboration has created significant opportunities for students, including access to scholarships, internships within the broadcasting complex, and participation in lectures delivered by leading global experts in media. The joint project marks a major step in supporting and developing talented young professionals, while fostering a new generation of journalists equipped to meet the contemporary communicative needs of society and the state.
Over the past four years, students have received instruction from internationally educated specialists and current professionals in Kazakhstani media. The combination of highly qualified academic staff and cutting-edge technical facilities enabled them not only to master modern journalistic techniques, but also to produce a number of media projects. Final-year students’ work has been featured in approximately 10 media outlets, with some students securing employment in the industry.
The graduation ceremony for Maqsut Narikbayev University will take place on 9 July 2025.
