Members of the Alumni Club of Maqsut Narikbayev University discussed the provisions of the new Tax Code. The university hosted a meeting with Gabitzhan Kudaibergen, Managing Partner of the law firm GK and Partners and Co-Founder of the Kazakhstan Association of Tax Consultants.
During the meeting, Gabitzhan Kudaibergen explained the innovations in the area of desk (cameral) control, changes related to value-added tax (VAT), and clarified the mechanisms for effectively working with desk control notifications. Particular attention was given to practical tools and recommendations aimed at minimizing tax risks and building a sound strategy for interaction with tax authorities. The expert also emphasized the expansion of the principle of taxpayer good faith, which will significantly impact law enforcement practice and approaches to tax administration.
It is worth noting that the new Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan entered into force in January of this year.
